About

‘Off Grid’ is the debut game from indie developer duo Rich Metson and Pontus Schönberg.

“There are dark and greedy forces creeping into our everyday lives. The internet as we know it is under threat. This is not fiction, we live in this world… Prism, Facebook,CISPA, SOPA, PIPA, The Patriot Act, the internet in a suitcase, mesh networks, the Arab Spring, Occupy, and Anonymous… Bitcoin.”

‘Off-Grid’ is a cross between a political thriller and a dark comedy, married with traditional 3rd person stealth game-play, and set in a stylized world.

Imagine a dark comedy set in a contemporary city, where a corrupt politics and lobbying by corporations has meant that privacy and data law has been eroded, and copyright has been pushed to the extremes. The city’s corporations own and scrape your data, and everything you say and do is recorded.

‘Off Grid’ is an adventure-satire, a game about a mishap antihero. You play an everyman pencil pusher, who is oblivious to the city’s prying and spying coca-cola sponsored government until a series of dark events unfold.

Tap into the Prism network. Stealth, scavenge, and craft to create ‘mesh networks’ and the tools you need for stealthing and sabotaging the city to freedom. Your aim is to leak information, help build cells of resistance, free musicians, activists, thinkers, and hackers and create a network of freedom for the people to regain their anonymity, what they do from there, is up to them..
